IL CONCETTO :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Prendendo liberamente ispirazione alla Divina Commedia di Dante Alighieri, la danzatrice e coreografa milanese Francesca Pedretti propone un intero weekend all’insegna della Tribal Fusion creativa ed emozionale. Il progetto – che è già andato in porto a Milano, Jesi, Trieste e New York City – arriva nel 2015 a Roma con la partecipazione di esponenti della Tribal Fusion italiana Silvia Macka, Alice Giampieri, Patrizia Pin, Valenteena Ianni e la stessa Francesca Pedretti, e avrà come ospite speciale Alexis Southall dal Regno Unito. Si propongo 6 workshop tematici sulla Divina Commedia e due Masterclass, per un totale 16 ore di studio indirizzato a studenti e professionisti . Lo spettacolo verrà presentato la domenica sera. La particolarità del progetto, aldilà del tema inaudito per questo genere di danza, sta nel fatto che le allieve sono invitate a far parte dello spettacolo. Perciò, devono partecipare a un casting che si svolgerà durante l’estate 2015. Lo show è diviso in tre atti – Inferno, Purgatorio e Paradiso – ognuno dei quali curato da due artiste e costruito insieme alle allieve dei workshop.
Ci racconta Francesca Pedretti, l’ideatrice del progetto: “T&BDA La Divina Commedia è più che altro un’esperienza per gli artisti e per le ballerine che parteciperanno al casting per lo spettacolo. Non si tratta semplicemente di imparare due corografie in quattro ore, e di esibirsi la sera stessa, ma di condividere una prova; gli artisti dovranno preparare dei lavori che siano bellissimi ed interessanti contando molto sulla capacità non solo tecnica ma sulla presenza delle loro ‘collaboratrici’, cioè delle danzatrici selezionate, lavorando con l’improvvisazione. Siate preparate alla sfida!”

WS#1 Silviah Macka ~ Inferno
Superbia e Ira
Durante questo stage analizzeremo e interpreteremo due peccati capitali, nei quali le Anime dannate si crogiolano e rivoltano. Ira: la stizza dell’iracondo si scaglia verso gli altri esseri umani, ma è anche diretta contro se stesso, e lo avviluppa in una spirale di disordine, furia e astio. Superbia: il vizio supremo, il paragone diretto con Dio, la convinzione di essere invincibili e superiori. Lo stesso peccato di cui si sono macchiati Lucifero e Adamo ed Eva. Il superbo ammira la propria immagine nello specchio che tiene sempre in mano, e si compiace della propria perfezione. Ogni peccato capitale tradotto in vocabolario di movimento e sequenze coreografiche e di improvvisazione.

Il sogno di Dante
In questo seminario attraverseremo i tre peccati della Lussuria, della Gola e dell’Ira: innamoriamoci con purezza dei nostri simili, trasformiamoci nel simbolo del vizio della Gola, l’Albero dei Golosi, scateniamo la nostra Ira e… si salvi chi può!

Il viaggio delle Anime
Il ricordo dei peccati commessi in vita, la morte, il viaggio delle anime dannate traghettate da Caronte oltre il fiume infernale. Ricreeremo insieme il cammino verso gli inferi, attraverso sequenze coreografiche in stile Tribal Fusion e tecnica d’improvvisazione, lasciandoci semplicemente suggestionare da immagini rappresentative dell’opera di Dante e utilizzando emozioni da ricordi immaginari.

Seamless Combinations
La parola seamless che la giunzione tra due elementi non è visibile. In questa masterclass andremo a focalizzare lo sviluppo di isolamenti muscolari profondi e imparare due o tre sequenze fluide ed eleganti che accendono il dinamismo del movimento continuo.

Precisione e improvvisazione
Questa masterclass comprende pratica della tecnica al fine di uno studio coreografico. Particolare attenzione alla musicalità e alla velocità e precisione dei movimenti, all’intenzione e alla potenza dei nostri gesti. Alterneremo allo studio coreografico alcuni momenti di improvvisazione guidata lasciandoci muovere da un unico sentimento : la felicità.

WS#7 Patrizia Pin ~ Purgatorio
Lete ed Eunoe
I fiumi dell’oblio e della memoria: Alla fine del Purgatorio, nel Paradiso Terrestre, Dante pone gli espianti davanti all’ultimo passaggio prima della Salvezza Eterna; essi infatti dovranno bagnarsi nelle acque del fiume dell’Oblio, che li renderà dimentichi dei propri peccati e in quello della Memoria, che ne instillerà i pensieri del bene. Attraverso elementi di improvvisazione del teatro-danza e sequenze coreografate ricostruiremo il delicato percorso dell’Espiazione nel passaggio attraverso i due fiumi fino ad intravedere finalmente la luce del Paradiso.

Cieli del Paradiso
Dante Alighieri, nel descrivere la visione del proprio viaggio nell’oltretomba, divide il Paradiso in nove cerchi o “cieli” che circondano la Terra prima dell’Empireo. In ogni cielo, si presentano diverse gerarchie di angeli, rappresentando differenti virtù, man mano che l’anima ascende al Paradiso. Attraverso sequenze coreografiche e tecniche di improvvisazione, noi ricreeremo il viaggio di Dante nel Paradiso.

° Il T&BDA La Divina Commedia “experience” è una proposta davvero eccezionale: siete invitate a costruire insieme a noi lo spettacolo che si terrà il 25 ottobre a Roma! Lo show sarà diviso in tre atti (Inferno, Purgatorio, Paradiso), ogni settore sarà coordinato da due artiste e costruito insieme alle allieve dei workshop!
° NOTA BENE: è possibile partecipare ai workshop senza candidarsi al casting. Ma per candidarsi al casting è necessario, prima, iscriversi ad almeno due workshop, seguendo il link sopraindicato.

THE CONCEPT ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Taking inspiration freely from Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, the dancer and choreographer from Milan Francesca Pedretti proposes a whole week end full of creative and emotional Tribal Fusion. The project has already been presented in Milan, Jesi, Trieste and New York City, and now arrives in Rome with the participation of important dancers of Italian Tribal Fusion scene, Silvia Macka, Alice Giampieri, Patrizia Pin, Valenteena Ianni and Francesca Pedretti, and special guest Alexis Southall from the United Kingdom. There will be six thematic workshops on the Divine Comedy and two master classes, totalling 16 hours of study that can be attended by students and professional dancers. The Show will take place Sunday night in a theatre in the center of Rome. The particularity of the project, beyond the unheard theme for this kind of dance, is that the students are invited to be part of the show. Therefore, they must participate in a casting that will happen during the summer 2015. The Show is divided into three acts – Inferno, Purgatorio, Paradiso – each of
which is coordinated by two artists and built together with the pupils of the workshops.
Francesca Pedretti, the creator of project, tells us: “La Divina Commedia is a great experience for the artists and dancers who attend the casting for the show. It is not simply about learning two choreographies in four hours and perform the same week end, but it’s about sharing a challenge; the artists must prepare beautiful and interesting choreographies using not only their technical skills but the scenic presence of their ‘collaborators’, i.e. the selected dancers, working with improvisation. Be prepared for a big challenge!”

WS#1 Silviah Macka ~ Inferno
Pride and Wrath
In this workshop we will interpret two deadly sins in which the damned souls laze and turn around. Wrath: the Anger of the wrathful flings toward other human beings, but is also directed against himself, enmeshes him into a spiral of chaos, fury and hatred. Pride: the supreme vice of being in direct comparison with God, the belief of being invincible and higher. The same sin of Lucifer, and Adam and Eve. The Superb admires his image in the mirror that always keeps in his hand, and welcomes his own perfection. Both cardinal sins will be translated into the movement vocabulary and choreographic sequences and improvisation.

Dante’s dream
In this workshop we will cross the three cardinal sins of Lust, Gluttony and the Wrath (Anger): let us get in love, with purity, of our fellowmen; let us be the symbol of Gluttony, the Terrace of Gluttony; let us inflame our Anger and … every man for himself!

WS#4 Alice Giampieri ~ Inferno
The journey of souls.
The memory of the sins that the souls committed in life, death and the journey of the damned souls ferried by Caronte across the hell river. We recreate the journey to the underworld, through choreographic sequences in Tribal Fusion style and technique of improvisation, influenced by specific images from Dante’s poem and using emotion from imaginary memories.

WS#5 Alexis Southall ~ Masterclass
Seamless Combinations
The word seamless suggests that the join between two things is not visible. In this class we will focus on developing deeper muscular isolations through movement drills and learn two or three elegant, fluid combinations that highlight the dynamism of continuous movement.

Precision and improvisation
This masterclass includes practice of technique in order to learn a choreography with particular attention to musicality and precision of fast movements, to express intention and power through our gestures. We will alternate between choreography and guided improvisation inspired by one emotion: happiness.

Lete ed Eunoe
The rivers of oblivion and memory: At the end of Purgatory, in the Terrestrial Heaven, Dante puts the servants in front of the last gateway before the Eternal Salvage; they must get wet into the waters of the Oblivion river, wich make them without any remembering of their own sins, and into the Memory one, wich give them the thoughts of the Good.
With improvisational and theatrical elements and choreography we´re going to built the delicate path to Atonement in the passing the river since to catch a glimpse of Heaven.

WS#8 Alexis Southall ~ Paradiso
The Circles of Heaven
On his journey through Paradise, Dante travels through the 9 circles of Heaven surrounding the Earth before reaching the Empyrean. In each circle he meets a different hierarchy of angels, each representing a different virtue, as the soul ascends to Heaven.
Through choreographic sequences and improvisational techniques, we will recreate Dante’s journey through Paradise.

° The casting for T&BDA La Divina Commedia is an incredible experience: students and dancers are invited to build with the teachers the show which will be on Sunday, October 25th. Each one of the three acts (Inferno, Purgatorio, Paradiso) will be coordinated by two instructors and built together with the workshops attendees!
° Please notice: it’s possibile to attend the workshops without applying for the casting; but, if you apply, it is necessary to registrate to at least two workshops (following the link above).
